Racha Fora featuring Donny McCaslin, performing selections from their new album, "Racha S'Miles", a unique tribute to Miles Davis.
Racha Fora, led by flautist/EWI player Hiro Honshuku, pursues a new breed of jazz, following Honshuku's idol, Miles Davis, who preached that jazz must evolve. Racha Fora's music is a hybrid of jazz improvisation and native Brazilian rhythms, supported by a fascinating Brazilian rhythm section: Andre Vasconcelos on guitar, Rafael Russi on bass, and Sergio Krakowski on pandeiro. The music is spontaneous, yet grooving. Racha Fora also features Honshuku's unique writing style, based on the late George Russell's Lydian Chromatic Concept.
Racha Fora is thrilled to have a special guest, David Bowie's sax man, Donny McCaslin for this special event. It will be a wild night.
